Look at Christ

I recently read (re-read) a Spurgeon devotional on Hebrews 12:2. The verse is about focusing our eyes on Jesus. Spurgeon says something profound. He said, "It is always the Holy Spirit's work to turn our eyes away from self to Jesus. But Satan's work is just the opposite; he is constantly trying to make us look at ourselves instead of Christ". Long ago I met someone who was discouraged by what he seen in other Christians. My advice to him was to not look at Christians, but to look at Christ!
